The Problem

I want more storage on my server. So I bought a couple 3Tb hard drives to throw in my Dell PowerEdge 2900  with a PERC 5 raid controller. The PowerEdge 2900 with PERC 5 only supports 2Tb Max. So I threw them in and they show up as 2 Tb exactly. They work but I can't get more than 2Tb out of them.

The Solution

Only buy 2Tb hard drives for my server.
