The issue

My Poweredge 2900 has a scrolling marquee LCD panel on the front and it just said Poweredge 2900 .... over and over and over. I wanted to change it to make it more fun. So I changed it to "Sheldons super server - Jenny is sexy   soooooo hot." That way the Mrs. doesn't get angry when she stares at my big ol puter.

The Solution

Hit F2 to enter the Bios.

Go to Embedded Server Management. Enter.

Under Front-Panel LCD Options hit spacebar until it turns to User-Defined String.

Go down to User-Defined LCD string hit Enter to create the string.

Get out of the Bios.
